UnknownDivide is a side project from Derrick Stembridge known for his longstanding Drifting in Silence body of work. Firmly rooted in the ambient music movement, Drifting In Silence spans a broad range of territory from atmospheric to electro, to dance groove.

Now, with irresistible rhythms and organic voicings, "Unknowndivide" further defines the aural landscape. A driving beat is not unknown in Drifting in Silence, but whereas its hallmark is atmosphere, Unknowndivide's premier offering, Instinct, comes at you with the force and richness of an aural rainforest — one with teeth.

The contrast is inevitable: Drifting in Silence is a matrix within which its musical elements are nurtured and delivered to the listener. But whereas in ambient music, melodic content lurks just below the surface, the contrapuntal melodies in UnknownDivide are evident from the beginning, perfectly balanced by a master craftsman in such a way that each new listen reassembles the dynamic equilibrium in new and exciting ways.
